“Rising Sun QuiltFest” is organized by the Ohio County Historical Society, Inc. and Sunshine Stitchers from Rising Sun, Indiana.
When long time residents Betty Ann and Lloyd Pavy retired from their quilt and furniture store in Rising Sun, the Ohio County Historical Society decided to continue the annual April quilt show, begun by the Pavy’s.
“QuiltFest” has grown from an initial showing of 35 quilts from the community and the Historical Society collection hung in the museum in 2002. In 2008 and 2009 the show moved to the Rising Sun Senior Citizen and Community Building with vendors, classes and 98 quilts, art quilts and art items entered in competition for cash prizes.
The 2010 show marks another milestone as the show moves to the Grand Theatre at Grand Victoria Casino and Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana.
